Long ago, Mary and Joseph travelled to a little town called Bethlehem. While they were there, the time came for baby Jesus to be born. Mary wrapped Him in cloths and gently laid Him in a manger—a feeding place for animals—because there was no room for them in the guest room.
That quiet night became one of the most important moments in history. Jesus, the Son of God, had come into the world. He wasn't born in a beautiful palace, surrounded by riches. Instead, He arrived in humble surroundings, bringing love, peace and hope.
At Christmas, Christians celebrate God's gift of Jesus. His humble beginning reminds us that we do not need expensive things to show love. We can welcome someone, share what we have, or help a person who needs us.
Talk together: What is one kind thing our family could do for someone today?
